Fire/EMS protection is provided to Lake Township residents by three private fire companies: Greentown Volunteer Fire DepartmentUniontown Fire Department, and Hartville Fire Department. Hartville and Uniontown first responders are dedicated to protecting and serving the communities of Lake Township with promptness, courtesy, and professionalism.

The Greentown Volunteer Fire Department is a premier provider of emergency services in Lake Township – protecting residents and businesses in our primary response area. Greentown also provides mutual aid for the surrounding areas. We are a combination fire & EMS non-profit organization, with 24-hours a day 7-days-a-week staffing.

Today the Hartville Fire Department supplies progressive and cost effective 24 around the clock, 365 days a year staffing of two (2) Fire Stations, one located at 411 East Maple Street in Hartville and a second fire station located at 2955 Nimishillen Church Street NE, Lake Township. These stations are staffed by dedicated highly trained career full-time Firefighter/Paramedics, part-time and on call emergency personnel.

The Uniontown Fire Department is a combination organization contracted to provide Fire and EMS services to the citizens of Lake Township. Under the direction of a Board of Directors and Fire Chief Tom Wiles, our mission as a Fire Department is to provide the highest quality of fire, EMS, and rescue services to our residents and surrounding areas when called upon.
